Are You Ready to Actually Retire?
Knowing when to retire is harder than knowing how much to save. The timing depends on what your retirement actually looks like: how long your money needs to last, what you'll spend, and where your income comes from.

🧠 Devotional
There’s a quote that goes like this:
“Do not fear the waves, because your Savior walks on water.”
Because as we know in Matthew 14:25–26, Jesus came to them in the middle of the night, walking on the sea, and when the disciples saw Him, they were terrified and cried out in fear.
And in that same moment, there was a lot of fear.
But look at what Jesus says in Matthew 14:27, “Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.”
And the waves were still there, the boat was “tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary” (Matthew 14:24).
So the point isn’t that there are no waves.
The point is that Jesus is above them.
He is literally walking on the thing they’re afraid of.
And when Peter steps out onto the water, everything is fine until he shifts his focus, because “when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid” (Matthew 14:30).
And immediately, not later, “Jesus stretched forth his hand” and caught him (Matthew 14:31).
Not only did Jesus deal with the waves, He did it in the most triumphant way possible. He didn’t swim through them or fight against them. He walked on them.
And this isn’t a one-time moment, the waves aren’t the only thing.
In Mark 4:39, He speaks to the storm and it stops, “Peace, be still… and the wind ceased.”
In Matthew 8:3, He touches sickness and it’s gone, “I will; be thou clean.”
In Matthew 14:19–20, He takes what’s not enough and makes it more than enough, and they “did all eat, and were filled.”
And in John 11:43–44, He doesn’t accept death, He calls it back, “Lazarus, come forth.”
So know this: No matter what you fear, Jesus has already defeated it in the most triumphant way possible.
