🧠 Devotional
Isn’t it crazy that God sees everything, not just that He can, but that He actually does.
Just think… God is literally watching you read this right now.
And we first see this in Genesis 3.
Adam and Eve eat from the tree God told them not to, and immediately something changes:
“the eyes of both of them were opened… and they sewed fig leaves together” (Genesis 3:7).
They became aware of their sin.
Instead of going to God, they try to avoid Him:
“they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden” (Genesis 3:8).
They chose to hide.
Then God calls out to Adam:
“Where are you?” (Genesis 3:9).
Not because God didn’t know, but to bring Adam out. And then He addresses the exact sin:
“Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?” (Genesis 3:11).
Before Adam says anything, God already speaks directly to what happened. Nothing caught God off guard, He already knew.
And here are two of the clearest verses that say God sees everything.
Proverbs 15:3 says, “The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.”
Hebrews 4:13 says, “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him…”
And when I say everything, I mean everything, not just actions, thoughts too.
Psalm 139:2 says, “You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.”
Now you probably already knew God sees everything, but it doesn’t hurt to have a reminder, and on top of that maybe it’ll keep that in the forefront of your mind, and whenever you do anything, know God will see it.
