Good morning. It’s Sunday, April 5th, aka Easter!
🥳 Congratulations on starting today with God, and thank you for letting us be a part of it.

📖 Verse Of The Day

— Matthew 28:6

🧠 Devotional
Today is Easter, the day we’ve been building up to all week, and today we’re looking at the moment Jesus rises from the dead.
And these verses tell the story:
Matthew 28:1–6 (KJV)
1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Early in the morning, the women go to the tomb to see where Jesus had been laid, but instead of finding Him there, everything is different. There’s been a great earthquake, an angel comes down from heaven and rolls the stone away, and the guards are so afraid that they can’t even stand.
Then the angel speaks to them and says, “Fear not… for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.” In that moment, everything Jesus had been saying the whole time is now true right in front of them.
The tomb that was sealed is now open, and the place where He was laid is empty. Jesus isn’t there anymore. He’s alive. What looked like the end wasn’t the end at all.
This is the moment everything changes, life (and death) is forever changed.
So when you celebrate Easter, know this: Jesus rose from the dead just like He said He would, and because of that, we know death isn’t the end and there is real life through Him.
