Good morning. It’s Sunday, March 1st, aka National Pig Day.

🥳 Congratulations on starting today with God, and thank you for letting us be a part of it.

Did you know there are actually five gospels?

We all know Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, but you’re probably wondering, what is the fifth gospel?

It’s you. You’re the fifth gospel.

Now what does that even mean? Because you’re not literally the fifth gospel or a book in the Bible.

The point is, not everyone will read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John… but they will “read” you, and the way they read you could determine whether they ever want to read the other four.

But don’t just take my word for it. Take Paul’s.

In 2 Corinthians 3:2–3 (NIV), he says:

“You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, but on tablets of human hearts.”

In this verse, Paul is literally talking to the Corinthians. But if their lives were being read, so are ours.

And it’s not just Paul who says something like this. Jesus does too.

In Matthew 5:16 (NIV), Jesus says:

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Jesus connects what people see in you with what they believe about God.

Everyone has a choice whether or not they want to read the Bible, and more specifically the four Gospels.

But they don’t get that same choice when it comes to your life.

The people around you, your coworkers, your friends, your family, the people who follow you online, they are watching you. They are forming opinions about Jesus based on what they see in your life.

So whatever you say, whatever you do, whatever you post, it represents something bigger than you, and you should want to be a good example of the other four Gospels, not a bad one.

Have your gospel be the reason why someone reads the other four.

So not only are you the fifth gospel, you might just be the only gospel someone ever reads.

When you’re not sure how to pray, A.C.T.S. gives you a simple path to follow: Adore, Confess, Thank, and Ask.

Adoration: God, You are holy and Your Word is true.

Confession: Forgive me when my life does not reflect You.

Thanksgiving: Thank You for letting me represent You.

Supplication: Help my life point people to Jesus and lead them to the other four gospels.
