Good morning. It’s Sunday, February 1st, aka National Texas Day.
🥳 Congratulations on starting today with God, and thank you for letting us be a part of it.

📖 Verse Of The Day

— Psalm 25:14

🧠 Devotional
There are 31,102 verses in the Bible.
Which means we have about 85 years’ worth of “verses of the day.”
And unless you have a photographic memory, it’s impossible to remember them all.
So most of us end up knowing the same handful of verses.
John 3:16. Philippians 4:13. Psalm 23:1.
They’re great verses. They deserve to be known.
But there are a lot of hidden gems that are every bit as gem-worthy.
Every now and then, you come across a verse that speaks to you.
And technically, in this case, it really is God speaking to you through His word.
That’s what Psalm 25:14 does.
“The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.”
(Psalm 25:14, NIV)
Even though this verse is short, there’s a lot to like about it.
Here are four reasons.
1.) “The Lord confides.”
You don’t confide in strangers. You confide in people who know you and care about you. This line tells us God isn’t distant or anonymous. He knows us.
2.) “Those who fear him.”
This doesn’t mean being afraid. It means respect. You don’t ignore someone you respect. You listen. This line tells us God draws close to people who take Him seriously.
3.) “He makes his covenant known to them.”
God doesn’t keep the relationship unclear. He tells people where they stand with Him. He explains His promises instead of leaving them guessing.
4.) Notice what’s not there.
There’s no list of qualifications. No mention of talent, perfection, or status. The verse doesn’t say God only confides in experts. It says reverence is enough.
To make sure we’re reading this verse the right way, it helps to look at the verse right before and right after it.
“They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land.”
(Psalm 25:13, NIV)
“My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only he will release my feet from the snare.”
(Psalm 25:15, NIV)
Psalm 25:13 shows the kind of life this verse is sitting in. It’s a person who fears God and is being guided and cared for.
Psalm 25:15 shows what that produces. The response is trust. Eyes up. Looking to God for help and protection when things get tight.
So out of all 31,102 verses, this one is worth knowing because it shows how God confides in you and makes Himself known to you.
