Good morning. Today is Thursday, June 11th!

🥳 Congratulations on starting today with God, and thank you for letting us be a part of it.

📖 Verse Of The Day

— Psalm 104:24

🧠 Devotional

Have you ever thought about how some animals literally have what seem like superpowers?

Not metaphorically. Real abilities that sound impossible.

And the crazier part is that humans constantly study creation trying to copy the designs and abilities already found in nature.

The Bible says:

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made…”
Romans 1:20

Look at some of these animals:

  • Electric eel generate electricity powerful enough to stun prey.

  • Mantis shrimp punch so fast they create shockwaves and flashes of light underwater.

  • Tardigrade can survive freezing, radiation, dehydration, extreme heat, and even outer space.

  • Immortal jellyfish can revert back to an earlier stage of life instead of dying normally.

  • Axolotl can regrow limbs, organs, and parts of their spinal cord.

But what’s amazing is humans don’t just study the animals with “superpowers.” We study even the simple designs found throughout creation because they’re so advanced and efficient.

In many ways, some of our most advanced technology is really just humans trying to imitate designs that already existed in God’s creation.

  • Birds inspired aircraft design, wing structure, aerodynamics, and flight mechanics.

  • Kingfishers inspired Japan’s bullet train because their beaks cut through air with almost no resistance.

  • Shark skin inspired swimsuits, submarines, and aircraft coatings because its texture reduces drag.

  • Gecko feet inspired adhesives because they stick to surfaces without glue.

  • Owl feathers inspired quieter aircraft and fan blades because owls fly almost silently.

  • Spider silk inspired stronger engineering materials because it’s stronger than steel for its size.

The deeper you look into creation, the harder it becomes to believe all of this is just random chance, coincidence, or an accident.

These are incredibly precise, engineered, purposeful designs.

The Bible says:

“How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all.”
Psalm 104:24

And if God put that much detail and creativity into animals and creatures most people overlook, imagine how much care He put into creating you.
