Are You Ready to Actually Retire?
Knowing when to retire is harder than knowing how much to save. The timing depends on what your retirement actually looks like: how long your money needs to last, what you'll spend, and where your income comes from.
When to Retire: A Quick and Easy Planning Guide is built for investors with $1,000,000 or more who are ready to move from saving to planning. Download your free guide and start working through the details.

🧠 Devotional
Do you ever wonder if your faith is enough?
If you actually believe? If you’ll go to heaven?
If one day you’ll hear the words in Matthew 25:23 (NIV):
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’”
Or maybe you worry you’ll hear the words in Matthew 7:23 (NIV):
“Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”
So I want to ask you another question that I think can help you answer those questions for yourself, and it’s this:
If following God were illegal, would there be enough evidence to convict you?
Because with this question, it’s not so much about how you feel. It’s about what your life shows. What you say. How you act. How you treat people. And how others would perceive you if they were looking for evidence that you follow God.
Quite literally, imagine you’re in court. What would your lawyer say about you? What evidence would they present that you follow God? And what would the devil’s lawyer say about you? What evidence would they bring forward?
The Bible actually answers what that kind of evidence looks like.
James 2:18 (NIV) says,
“But someone will say, ‘You have faith; I have deeds.’ Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.”
In other words, faith lives in the heart, but it eventually shows itself in the way we live. You can’t see faith directly, but you can see the actions that come from it.
The Bible even encourages us to ask ourselves questions like this.
2 Corinthians 13:5 (NIV) says,
“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.”
In other words, Scripture actually tells us to take an honest look at our own lives and reflect on whether our faith is real.
So ask yourself again:
If following God were illegal, would there be enough evidence to convict you?
