Good morning. It’s Monday, March 9th, aka National Napping Day.
🥳 Congratulations on starting today with God, and thank you for letting us be a part of it.

📖 Verse Of The Day

— Luke 16:10

🧠 Devotional
If you’re anything like the average human, you probably want a nicer car, a nicer house, nicer clothes, or nicer things in general.
And if someone asked you, you might even say you would take much better care of them than the things you have now.
But Jesus taught something interesting about that idea.
In Luke 16:10 (NIV), He says:
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.”
In this verse, Jesus is explaining a principle about trust.
The way someone handles small things often reveals how they will handle bigger things. If someone can be trusted with something small, it shows they can likely be trusted with more. But if someone is dishonest with something small, that same pattern will appear in bigger situations.
A similar idea appears elsewhere in Scripture. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 4:2 (NIV):
“Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.”
This verse adds to the idea Jesus is teaching. Luke 16:10 shows that how someone handles small things reveals their character, while 1 Corinthians 4:2 emphasizes that those who are given responsibility are expected to be faithful with it.
Think about something as simple as making your bed in the morning. It seems like a small task that does not really matter that much, but it can show how someone handles responsibility with small things.
I’m not saying with 100% certainty that if you take care of what you have now you will receive nicer things later. But you will almost certainly appreciate what you have more and value the things you are given.
So the question is: how do you handle the small things? Are you someone who can be trusted with them, or perhaps someone who is working toward being trusted with them?

🙏 Prayer (Guided by A.C.T.S.)
When you’re not sure how to pray, A.C.T.S. gives you a simple path to follow: Adore, Confess, Thank, and Ask.
Adoration: God, You are faithful.
Confession: Forgive me for not always being faithful in small things.
Thanksgiving: Thank You for what You’ve entrusted to me.
Supplication: Help me be faithful with little.
In Jesus name, Amen
