🧠 Devotional

Have you ever heard the saying “let go and let God?”

It’s not actually a verse, but the idea is all over the Bible. It means you stop trying to control everything and trust God with it instead. You let go of your grip, your plan, and your need to figure it all out, and you let God step in and handle what you can’t.

You see that clearly with Abraham in Genesis 22. Abraham let go and let God. He did not try to control the situation or come up with his own plan, and God provided.

You see it again with Moses at the Red Sea in Exodus 14. Moses let go and let God. He did not try to fix it himself, and God made a way.

You see it with David before Goliath in 1 Samuel 17. David let go and let God. He did not rely on himself, and God gave the victory.

You see it with Daniel in Daniel 6. Daniel let go and let God. He did not panic or try to save himself, and God shut the lions’ mouths.

And then the Bible says it plainly:

1 Peter 5:7
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
Let go of it, and give it to God.

Psalm 55:22
“Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”
Let go of it, and He will hold you up.

Proverbs 3:5–6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Let go of your way, and let Him lead.

Psalm 37:5
“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this.”
Let go of your plan, and let Him handle it.

So know this: Just like them, when you let go of trying to control everything, that’s when you finally make room for God to step in and do what you can’t.

Let go and let God.

🙏 Prayer (Guided by A.C.T.S.)

When you’re not sure how to pray, A.C.T.S. gives you a simple path to follow: Adore, Confess, Thank, and Ask.

Adoration: God, You are in control.

Confession: I try to control things instead of letting go.

Thanksgiving: Thank You for caring for me.

Supplication: Help me let go and trust You.

In Jesus name, Amen
