Yeah. That Arnold Schwarzenegger.

🧠 Devotional
Have you ever heard the saying that our relationship with God is a little bit like a candle?
God is the light of the world, and because of Him, we’re able to illuminate a room. But the thing about a relationship is, it’s not always easy. Sometimes you can feel a bit extinguished. Distant. Not as close as you once were.
But no matter how far you are away from God, you can always be relit.
A candle doesn’t have to find its own flame, it just has to be brought back to it. A candle doesn’t create light, it just carries it. And if the flame goes out, it doesn’t mean it’s broken, it just means it needs to be brought back to the source.
And even a candle that’s lit needs a wick to keep the flame going. Without it, the flame doesn’t last. In the same way, staying connected to God, through things like prayer and spending time with Him, is what keeps that light alive in your life.
Without the flame, the candle doesn’t just dim, it goes dark. And that’s the difference. Light brings clarity, direction, and life. Darkness is what it feels like when you’re disconnected.
And you actually see this kind of language all throughout the Bible. It uses simple pictures like light, darkness, and fire to help explain deeper things about our relationship with God. It’s written in a way that helps you understand and connect, not just read it.
John 8:12
“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”
2 Timothy 1:6
“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”
1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
So know this: You don’t create the light, you just carry it, and you can always come back to the source.

Adoration: God, You are the light.
Confession: I drift and try to do things on my own.
Thanksgiving: Thank You I can always come back to You.
