🌅 Good Morning.
(This is the same announcement as yesterday)
We have some big announcements!
Daily Devotion will be rebranding to ➡️ StartWithGod.com
You don’t need to do anything. Just keep an eye on your inbox when it’s official.
Why the change?
Because the goal was never just to send a daily devotion.
It’s always been about helping you 🫵 starting your day with God first.
Nothing will be changing, just the name!
Okay, well technically two more things will be changing… (but for the better)
1.) We are finally adding an audio/listen feature to each newsletter
2.) All of our devotionals will be fact checked by an AI model trained 100% on the bible to verify everything you’re reading is based in biblical truth.
Now lets get into todays devotional…

Not Conservative. Not Liberal. Just Christian.
The world feels chaotic, but your news source doesn’t have to.
You can hide under a rock or spiral into the chaos… or you can subscribe to The Pour Over and get the news you need to know and the peace you crave.
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, The Pour Over sends quick news summaries that are actually fun to read. Plus, each newsletter includes short biblical reminders to help you stay focused on Christ and eternity. Instead of fueling outrage or anxiety, the news becomes another prompt to rest in God and respond in faith.
Over 1.5 million Christians have ditched the doomscroll and found a better way to stay informed––Christ-first, anger-free, and (even kinda) funny.
Try it for free and check out their welcome email that’ll make you glad you did!

📖 Verse Of The Day

🧠 Devotional
If prayer were graded on how much we talk, many of us would do just fine. Listening is where it gets harder. We pray quickly, often distracted, and usually with an answer already in mind. The Bible reminds us that prayer is not only about speaking to God, but about learning to hear Him.
Scripture begins with a call to stillness. “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10, KJV). God does not rush His people. Stillness helps us remember who is in control. When prayer never slows us down, it often becomes focused on relief instead of relationship. Quiet before God allows our hearts to settle and our attention to shift from our problems to His presence.
Listening to God also requires trust. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5, KJV). Many prayers ask for guidance while quietly clinging to personal plans. True listening means surrendering the outcome. God’s wisdom often corrects us before it comforts us, and that correction is an act of love.
The Bible makes clear that God speaks through His Word. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16, KJV). A prayer life separated from Scripture becomes shaped by emotion instead of truth. The more familiar we are with God’s Word, the easier it becomes to recognize His voice. Scripture trains our hearts to hear what aligns with God’s will and to reject what does not.
Listening is also revealed through obedience. Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15, KJV). Obedience does not earn God’s voice, but it reflects a heart that values what He has already spoken. When we ignore clear instruction, spiritual discernment weakens. When we obey, our sensitivity to God’s leading grows stronger.
As we listen, something changes within us. “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart” (Psalm 37:4, KJV). God does not promise to grant every request, but He does promise to shape our desires. Over time, prayer moves from asking God to bless our plans to desiring what pleases Him.
Prayer is not about filling silence with words. It is about meeting a God who speaks faithfully through His Word and leads those who are willing to listen. God has not stopped speaking. The question is whether we are slowing down enough to hear Him.

🙏 Prayer (Guided by ACTS)
When you’re not sure how to pray, A.C.T.S. gives you a simple path to follow: Adore, Confess, Thank, and Ask.
Adoration: God, You are sovereign, present, faithful, and always worthy of listening.
Confession: Forgive me for rushing prayer, trusting myself, and ignoring Your Word.
Thanksgiving: Thank You for speaking through Scripture with patience, truth, and grace.
Supplication: Teach me to listen, obey, and desire what pleases You.
In Jesus name, Amen
